Hi, this is such a beautiful cake! I've been admiring it ever since I saw it on foodgawker--I want to make it this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI was curious, what nation's cuisine does this belong to? I've never seen anything like this before!
Thank you for sharing :)
@pienarySystem, thank you :) this specific recipe is Mexican and many other recipes from my blog have Mexican origin...not all of them though...I like trying different things :)
ReplyDeleteDid you mean that the flan part is Mexican, or have you seen Mexicans do a half flan, half cake like this?
Deletethis is a mexican dessert, half cake, half flan.
DeleteI use to make this cake alot.
ReplyDeletethe difference between my way and yours is ; I start to fill the cake pan with the flan mixture then the chocolate batter.
Sabes si puedo hacer el pastel imposible con flan de caja? =)
ReplyDeleteCarolina, no estoy segura, nunca trate de hacerlo con flan de caja...

ReplyDeletethank you very much for your kind words :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful blog.I admire the time you put into every meal...You make me feel like such a lazy Mexican. I have a shortcut for this cake...let's just say the flan part is made 20 mins in the microwave. My grandmother used to make it in "bano Maria" ...huge pain in the you know what.
ReplyDelete:) thank you so much for you words :) i do not mind all the time spent on preparing a meal :) i really enjoy the preparation process ;)
